A Lifelong Community Member
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I was born in Fairbanks and raised in Goldstream Valley, played soccer at the Ester Park, skied our trails at Birch Hill, and attended events at the Dog Musher’s Hall throughout my life. I know what we need to keep our families and economy thriving. I believe in giving back. It has always been a passion of mine to support those who help create the great quality of life in our town.
Today, I work for our local educators, with the National Education Association of Alaska. As a product of our local public schools, I'm proud to advocate for the teachers, support staff, and school district that has done so much for our community and its kids. I have seen what our schools and students need to succeed and in order to build our community, we have to start from the youngest on up.
I have been trained as a mediator and negotiator, and I've learned how to bring people with different viewpoints together to find common ground. I also worked for six years as a Legislative Aide, working for your needs in Juneau under Senator Joe Thomas. I know what it takes to succeed in Juneau.
As your representative, I will bring these experiences to our state's capital, and get to work supporting our families and neighborhoods.I'm Grier Hopkins. This is my home. It's our home. And like you, I care about its future.
Thank you for your support.
